What made you get a Bird or a Camaro

I wasn't even considering firebirds and TA's when I was looking for a car. I wanted a Camaro. But my dad found this nice TA and I couldn't pass it up expecially since it had an LS1 which I thought I wouldn't be able to afford.

Since I've gotten the car I've grown to like Firebirds in general much more than Camaros, I don't why but I prefer them now.

Man, i love both, i love the TA for the musclular looks, the camaro for its birth to out do the stang. Simply, F boodys give me wood....in a sence. I dream of F cars, it is that simple, i would choose a f body over ANY car in the world if money has no meaning.

An SS looks like it can come over and kick your ass if it wants to, a WS6 looks like its going to do it.

Only reason I chose the TA over an LT Camaro was looks. That's about 90% of it. I love the LS1, but the look of the LT Camaro's and 3rd gens were what I liked about the Camaros. I love them all really. Only thing I don't like about the 98-02 Camaro's were the headlights. That's it, and it's the sole-reason I didn't get one. Lame, but true.

Back in the day i always saw the disco boys driving the T/As and the guys who were serious car guys or who would just kick your ass drive SS or Z/28s camaros. now i like the look of the T/A but i like the more aerodynamic smooth look of the SS / Z camaro. besides i don't think i would like driving around with a big chicken on my car. ! I've owned Trans Ams, Camaro's and an 01 Corvette

For some reason I just like the camaro I have ove all of them... I've owned about 5 LS1 Camaro's and my SOM car is the only one I wanted to build. The others just did not feel right.

I originally wanted nothing but a white WS6, but I guess there are magnets on camaros that attract me as I am on my second one now. My wife still wishes I would have gotten the WS6, but oh well she don't drive it anyways. Plus there is the nostalgia and heritage to go along with the camaro. Not that Firebirds don't have heritage it just seems camaros have a little more history.

Hey Josh, I think that the TA's are more built for aerodynamics around the race track since they direct air in ways that are better for cornering, but I think that the LS Maro's are built for the dragstrip. Maro's are known to have a lighter curb as well due to fixed headlights and no extravagent body panels.

I had a 93 Red Trans Am hardtop that was one of the best-looking cars, but I hated the stigma the Pontiacs had (Poor Old N*gger Something Something) so hence I went Camaro after the TA.

I'm willing to bet that the SS hood, WS6 hood, or Firehawk hood don't promote any more air than the other one's. It's about look as much as it is functionality on these cars. At least GM's hoods are actually functional unlike Ford's.

I don't really prefer one over the other anymore. Both look great IMO. TA's look more agressive than Camaro's most of the time, but the Camaro's can look just as agressive with the right mods.

They're both great cars. They're technically both the same car, just with different plastics... But the TA turns heads a lot faster IMO. Mainly just because it has a lot more going on. It looks aggressive and beautiful. But they really are both beautiful and wonderful cars. I can't put one over the other anymore.

The T/A looks like a road-racer and the Camaro looks like a drag-racer. :dunno: Just my opinion.

yes i think it's a matter of taste, they are the same car, except the t/a weights a bit more cause they had some more opitions i think ? but both have chevy ls1 motors! i remember i dated a girl that her dad bought the last year the t/a had a pontiac motor in it. gold t/a ( wonder if he still has it ) and if she's single ?

the reason i got my camaro is because i got such a great deal on it $1800, i really wanted a mustang, because i was brought up on fords, my grandfather retired from ford and my dad drive a 99 lightning truck so i thought was pretty cool and fast, but after my brother wrecked his fox stang, he got a 95 T/A and he gave me a ride, after that i was hooked, i looked high and low for a T/A but no luck on my buget of 2700, after i got my camaro i was hooked on 4th gen f-bodies, i would drive any 4th gen Z28/SS/Formula/WS6/Trans Am. f-bodies rule :thumb:

Had an 85 camry in high school, then drove an ex's 2000 GT mustang and loved the power. I went looking to buy one. Then happen to come across a camaro, fell in love as soon as I sat down.

For me I love the look of the camaro cause its simple and muscular where it needs to be. The t/a just has too much going on imo but will admit is still a beauty on its own.

I just made the switch from a 03 Mach 1 to a 01 SS!! I have had a 89 Notch, 96 Blown Cobra and the 03 Mach 1. I had nothing but problems with every car I had mainly engines!!! I didnt get into racing really untill the Mach but I never beat on them and they just were junk!! My wife has always had chevy products and we have always either had a Tahoe, Yukon or Siverado and NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH ANYTHING!!! So I decided to switch and try my luck!!!

My main reason for getting a Camaro over a TA was because I wanted to run an HID kit. Camaros are plug and play. I didn't want to deal with the pop up headlights. (previous car was a C4 corvette)

and yes I know they have HID kits for TAs too. didn't want to deal with the pop ups.

My reason was a friend of the family had bought the car for her daughter for havn good grades in school. Well they found the daughters diary that said she had plans on takn the Camaro and runing away with her boyfriend to California. (She wouldnt have made it a 100 miles) So her parents fixed that by putting the car up for sale. So me and my mom went over there to check out the car and the first thing I said about the car was that I HATED the color! PURPLE!? But I thought to myself i can just re-paint it to watever color i want, besides i wanted a fixer uper. Well we bought the car for $2500 and man we thought we had got the deal of the century!

A new motor 6 months later we realized we had a bought a car that needed a full resto job.

Oh that ugly ass purple that i hated 3 years ago, well it earned the right to stick around for another 10 years when it was sprayed back on my car last month ;)
